Website SEO audit & on-page fixes
Most sites aren't losing to competitors. They're losing to a missing title tag, a page Google can't index, and content written for nobody in particular. I find which one it is, then fix it.
An SEO audit is only worth paying for if something changes afterwards. Plenty of freelancers will sell you a fifty-page PDF, tick the box and disappear — you're left holding a document you can't act on. I do the audit and the implementation, so what you're buying is a site that ranks better, not a report about a site that doesn't.
I work on WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace and hand-built sites. Most of my clients are small businesses, freelancers and one-person shops in the UK and US who know their site should be bringing in enquiries and can't work out why it isn't.
What the audit actually covers
- Technical crawl — indexing, robots.txt, canonicals, redirect chains, broken links, sitemap health, duplicate content, and whether Google is actually seeing what you think it is.
- Core Web Vitals — LCP, CLS and INP measured on real pages, with the specific cause named (that 2MB hero image, that render-blocking script) rather than a generic 'improve speed'.
- Keyword research — the terms your buyers actually type, checked against real search volume and against whether a site your size can realistically compete for them this year.
- On-page — title tags, meta descriptions, H1/H2 structure, image alt text, internal linking, and content that answers the query instead of circling it.
- Schema markup — LocalBusiness, Service, FAQ, Product or Article, whichever fits, so you're eligible for the rich results your competitors are already getting.
- Competitors — three named competitors, what they rank for that you don't, and where the gap is realistically closeable.
What you get back
- A prioritised action list — not 200 issues, but the eight or ten that move the needle, ordered by impact against effort.
- The fixes implemented on your site (Standard and Full packages), so you don't have to brief a developer.
- A keyword map showing which page targets which term, so you stop competing against yourself.
- A short screen-recorded walkthrough explaining what I changed and why, in plain English.
- A 30-day plan for what to do next, whether or not you hire me to do it.

Questions
Before you ask.
How long before I see results from an SEO audit?
On-page and technical fixes usually show up in Google Search Console within two to six weeks — that is how long it takes for Google to recrawl and re-evaluate the pages. Ranking movement on competitive terms takes longer, and three months is a realistic first honest look. Anyone promising week-one results is selling you something else.
Do you guarantee first-page rankings?
No, and nobody honest does. Google does not sell rankings and no freelancer controls the algorithm. What I guarantee is that the technical and on-page reasons holding your site back get found and fixed, and that you will know exactly what was wrong and what changed.
Will you make the changes or just tell me what to do?
On the Audit + Fixes and Full On-Page packages I implement the changes myself. On the entry-level Audit you get the prioritised list and can hand it to your own developer. Most clients find the implementation is the part they actually needed.
What access do you need to my website?
An editor or admin account on your CMS for the implementation packages, and delegated access to Google Search Console and Analytics as a user (never your Google password). For the audit-only package, the public URL is enough to start.
Do you work with WordPress, Shopify and Wix?
Yes. WordPress is where I do most of my work — I run thepaidhour.com on it — but the on-page and technical principles are the same across Shopify, Wix, Squarespace and custom builds. I will tell you upfront if a platform limitation blocks a specific fix.

Send me the link.
I'll tell you what I see.
No charge for a first look. Send your site, channel, footage or CV and tell me what you want to happen — I'll come back with whether I can help and what it would cost.
